Robert Stephenson-Padron, MSc
Managing Director

Robert-StephensonMr. Padron is a healthcare industry expert and former public servant. Prior to starting Penrose Care in 2012, he was a healthcare research analyst at Merrill Lynch (2010-12), which he joined from Barclays Capital/Barclays PLC (2007-10). From 2003-2006, he served as a commissioner of the City of Berkeley, USA. In 2014, Mr. Padron was named the UK’s Most Outstanding Leader in the Care Sector.

Mr. Padron holds a BA in Economics from UC Berkeley and a Master in Economics & Finance from the Universidad de Navarra. Mr. Padron is an avid animal lover and enjoys taking his pet parrot out for walks in north west London.

María Tovar Lezáun, RN
Care Manager

MaríaMs. Tovar is a registered nurse in the UK and Spain. She joined Penrose Care from Beis Rochel Nursing Home (Agudas Israel Housing Association) of London where she worked as a nurse during the summer of 2012. Prior to her UK-based career, she worked as a nurse in the Psychiatric Unit of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra (2009-2012), the best private hospital in Spain. Ms. Tovar works concurrently as a practicing nurse at the prestigious Harley Clinic.

Ms. Tovar holds a degree in nursing from the Universidad de Navarra. Ms. Tovar enjoys horse riding, sports, and reading.

María Ferragut Rámiz

Mrs. Ferragut is passionate about children and education having many years of experience with children, young people, and teaching elderly individuals. Prior to moving to London, she taught technology immersion courses to the elderly in Madrid. Maria spent many years working with children and young adults in Palma de Mallorca as a volunteer for Grupo Scout San Alonso and as a social skills development monitor for socially excluded adults with Patronato Obrero.

Mrs. Ferragut has a degree in Humanities from the Universidad de Salamanca and Social Anthropology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Maria enjoys patchwork and lives in London with her husband and two children.

Dr. Matthew J. Knight, MBBS, BSc (hons), MRCP (Lond)
Co-founder & Non-Executive Director

MatthewDr. Knight is a practicing physician and works as a Consultant at the Barnet General Hospital following several years at the Royal Free Hospital. In addition to his work as a physician, he has spent many years engaged in voluntary work for young adults in north London and has helped with fundraising in Kenya and in India.

Dr. Knight holds a BSc (hons) in Neurosciences and MBBS (merit) in Medicine from the University College London. He holds the Diploma in Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians, London, and holds full membership of the Royal College. He has sat on the national trainees committee of the Royal College of Physicians from 2011. Since 1999, he has lived in the Hampstead area of north west London.

Rabbi Markus. A. Lange, MA
Non-executive Director

Rabbi Lange has been the Resident Chaplain of the Marie Curie Hospice Hampstead since 2010 providing Spiritual, Pastoral and Religious Care to all patients, families, staff and volunteers as a full member of the multi-professional teams for the in-patient and out-patient service of the hospice. He is acting Vice-President of the Association of Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplains and the founder and convenor of the Children’s Hospice Spiritual Care Network. He is on the professional register of the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplains. Prior to his posting at the Marie Curie Hospice Hampstead, Rabbi Lange held administrative and educational roles including at the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Council of Christians and Jews. He teaches and supervises chaplains and healthcare professionals on a regular basis.

Rabbi Lange holds an MA in Jewish Studies from King’s College London, and a diploma in Supervision in the Helping Professions from the London Centre of Psychodrama. He has received his rabbinic training in New York and London. In 2003-2007, during his time in the USA, he has specialized in healthcare chaplaincy in the context of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) and through various internships with caring and therapeutic services. Prior to that, he has studied and worked in Prague, Berlin and London.
