Our Care Professionals

We believe that if we are to fulfill our mission, of providing “home care with a human touch”, then we have to employ the best care providers in the industry. We feel that we have just that team, and have built this up by focusing heavily on looking after our staff. We train our staff to ensure that they are up to date with all Skills for Care recommendations (not just the obligatory ones). We provide a good working environment and ensure that our staff are paid well (in fact, we are one of only a handful of London Living Wage employers in the home care sector).
We are committed to hiring the best staff in England’s social care sector
Our board and senior management have a large network of professional contacts it utilises to hire exceptional individuals into Penrose Care. When selecting these individuals, we look for:
  • Compassion and respect for the dignity of others
  • Honesty & Integrity
  • An exceptional work ethic
  • Intelligence and professional competence
  • Punctuality & Dependability
Our screening process includes interviews with a minimum of two members of our senior management, the review of a detailed application, reference checks, and enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS; formerly CRB or Criminal Records Bureau) disclosures.
We equip our staff with exceptional training and infrastructure

We believe we offer our staff with among the best, if not the best, training and continuing professional development in the sector, and encourage you to read more about our training program here. We aim to provide our staff with training that goes beyond what is required and recommended by the social care sector’s training regulator, Skills for Care. This way, you can be assured that they care you receive from Penrose Care is delivered from someone who is both compassionate and highly competent and skilled.

In addition, we provide our staff with exceptional infrastructure through an approachable and open management team and IT far superior than what is standard in England’s social care sector.

We respect our staff for the important work they do by looking after them
We aim to raise the bar in social care workforce treatment by treating our staff with the respect they deserve for the important work they provide to our society. This is why we are proud to be only one of a few home care providers in London that are Accredited Living Wage Employers – ensuring our staff as a minimum receiving compensation that allows them to live decently. In addition, we pay for our staff’s travel time, something that seems like common sense but is often not done at numerous care organisations. In addition, we want our staff to feel safe and secure and so when “times get tough”, we aim to lay the burden on our owners rather than our staff.
